Legal History Insights is a blog about legal history created by the department of Historical Regimes of Normativity at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory and showcases posts from our current and former members and guests as well as those affiliated with our research.

But the blog is not primarily about the results of the research that the department carries out or the history of any one part of the law as such. It is also meant to provide a window into the extra activities, works-in-progress and personal research experiences of the people working in, with and connected to our department. A behind-the-scenes look into who we are as legal historians and what we do in our day-to-day work.

Legal History Insights was also established to share our thoughts in a way that is open and relatable. We believe that the communication of scientific research is an extremely important endeavour and, by providing insights from our work in an accessible way, we hope to foster discussions which bring diverse voices to the table.
